Fallen Fruit. Gouache, watercolor, ink, acrylic, and pencil on paper mounted on canvas. 90 x 100 cm, 2015/2016. (SOLD)
When I painted Fallen Fruit I began using layers of white. Under these layers you can still se details shine through. This was a great turning point for me and it affected my painting technique a lot, it was also a first step towards using more white in my paintings which also has opened up a whole new world for me.
This painting is part of the Tutti Frutti series. The Tutti Frutti Paintings all consists of what I see as an explosion of colors and patterns. I want these paintings to be a bit hard to take in at the first glance. The point is to get to know or understand the painting and then be able to also see the structure in it. All chaos also consists of harmony.
